Software Engineer

Appinions is a SaaS Platform provider, helping Fortune 1000 companies like IBM, Oracle, Nissan, and Dell with Influence Marketing. Our platform uses patented natural-language processing and social network analysis technology developed at Cornell University to help companies identify and manage the people, ideas, and publications that drive their market.

Skills & Requirements:

As a Full Stack Developer (Java & Javascript) you will be involved in design and implementation of a range of new capabilities built on top of our influence-based data platform. You’ll work with amazing data apis and an great set of developers and researchers to produce compelling and scalable web-applications. Our senior engineers typically have at least 3 years of Java web development under their belt, but you should have a keen understanding of web application technologies both front-end and back. We currently use the Spring framework so some experience with Spring is ideal. You should have a strong grasp of common OO design patterns, familiarity with a variety of data-stores, and a passion for good API design and performance.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work in a team environment to build the next generation of influence-based applications
  • Play an important role in design and implementation of an important new set of internal APIs
  • Develop awesome new features front to back (using Java and JavaScript)
  • Work with a team of developers and researchers ( who specialize in natural language processing, social network analysis) to create create scalable web apps with elegant, user-friendly design


  • 5+ years web development experience both server and client-side web-development
  • Ability to architect complex applications using frameworks and APIs
  • Familiarity with Java
  • Experience with client-side HTML/CSS/JSON/Javascript/JQuery/AJAX
  • Experience with server-side frameworks (Spring MVC/REST/Node.js)
  • Working knowledge with a variety of relational and nosql data stores (mysql, mongodb, hbase, redis)

Director – Corporate Accounts

You will be responsible for:

  • Prospect and qualifying new sale opportunities through cold and warm leads
  • Effectively communicate features and benefits of solutions and manage prospect expectations
  • Receive requests for service and solutions details from prospects and provide timely responses
  • Maintain a positive rapport with prospects and work to give them the best possible service
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the the company’s product offerings
  • Use CRM database to log sales data for customers and potential opportunities
  • Schedule meetings with qualified prospects to effectively demonstrate our services

Desired Skills & Experience

  • 5 to 7 years sales experience in selling software and SaaS marketing solutions required

Account Manager – Client Services

The account manager will:

  • Gain a sound understanding of the Appinions platform and methodology in order to effectively leverage the technology on behalf of client goals
  • Be responsible for the end-to-end success of priority accounts
  • Serve as the primary point of contact, strategic partner and influence marketing resource on key projects
  • Gather critical information from clients to provide strategic recommendations and actionable frameworks for execution
  • Lead enterprise-level onboarding, which includes both Appinions influence methodologies and technical training
  • Manage a small team of client services associates, delegating responsibilities as appropriate
  • Identify and qualify opportunities for organic growth and coordinate with the Appinions business development team
  • Participate in internal planning and contribute to product development meetings

Desirable candidate attributes:

  • 4-6 years of experience in the marketing or communications industry, preferably in a client services or planning role

Associate – Client Services

The client services associate will:

  • Gain a sound understanding of how Appinions processes data in order to effectively leverage the technology on behalf of client goals
  • Support key client accounts with varying needs including training, user support, report generation, data analysis, etc.
  • Attend client training sessions and meetings
  • Participate in internal planning and product development meetings

  • Recent college graduate with a degree in marketing or communications, preferably with internship experience in the industry

The role requires you to handle all of the accounting and administration needs of the company, including the preparation of financial statements. You will report directly to the CEO and works our CPA firm to prepare financial statements and tax returns at the end of the year.


In this role you will handle the full cycle of accounting duties. This includes coding and entering vendor and expense invoices, running checks, billing customers and clients, collecting receivables, preparing bank deposits, ensuring that the correct general ledger accounts are debited or credited accordingly. You will process employee timesheets, run payroll checks and prepare monthly and quarterly tax returns. You will handle all of a company’s banking needs, including reconciling monthly bank statements and monitoring cash flow.


The minimum education requirement is an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting combined with a minimum of 7 years experience in the field. This is not an entry-level position. Advanced QuickBooks accounting software training and experience is required.
